An age old pattern, very simple to do ... 2 squares sewn together....
I CQ patched each square using the foundation piecing method and scraps of fancy fabrics ... covered the seams with feather stitch in various threads and fibres, some beads added ... silk ribbon clusters with beads and some other embroidered motifs on blocks.
I put the three of them in a local art show and called the grouping "Two cocks and a chick" (something to cluck about) They got a lot of comments!
The first picture is a needlebook I just finished making for a friends birthday.

The frame on this lapel pin is a vintage shoe buckle, and the silk photo is Nora Belle McCabe, my grandmother. The trim is dyed with acid free brush markers. Inspired by Pat Winter's slide pendants, and Rissa's extra notes.
