I created this pouch using Dupioni fabric, appliques, beads and silk ribbon embroidery and a need to stitch. It is approx. 3 by 5 inches.
I also made a wall hanging for my GGD who is 2 1/2 yr. old now. It is a little girl kneeling beside her bed - praying. She has 2 of her dollies kneeling beside her also. The picture says: Does This Count? and then the scripture in Mathew 18-20 "where two or more are gathered together in my name, there I will be also." Here are some pictures of it. The first picture is a blow up of the center of the wall hanging. Then 2nd one shows the whole thing. I went all the way around the outside to take pictures of the crazy quilt block
Here are some pictures of what was a sewing cabinet in very poor condition. It is an old wooden piece that had even been damaged by water. I painted it first (it was dark wood - with veneer peeling off) with an off white acrylic paint. Then I just stared gluing lots of off white (some different shades of color) all over the inside and outside also. It was a fun project and really looks lovely sitting near my chair in my living room. I do keep some sewing supplies in it.
I'm sending the pictures of the Victorian Make-do Pincushion that Rissa saw at the EGA site. I made two versions - one was primarily red/white/blue (not 'patriotic') and the other primarily going toward purples - two sides and a top view of each.
A silk and velvet Black CQ petal drawstring purse, embellished with beaded dyed lace motifs and SRE, the top is cut into 6 petals with beaded dangles on each tip.
And a black CQ brocades and velvet Victorian slipper which I made, embellished with beads, gold and purple SRE.
