Here is a 20" x 20" quilt I made called "Queen Allie's
Lace"...the title referring to the flower Queen Anne's
Lace, of course. I loved working with the different
mandala type flower designs! I enjoyed making spider
web, too. I used two vintage hankies and also some
old embroidery in the piecing, and tried to make each
flower's leaves a different way.
I have just finished this purse so I thought I'd add
it to the next Mag to be shown in the Readers
Showcase.
I would like to add this little purse to the April's
Showcase as well.
My "Purple Garden Purse" has just "sprouted" and is
desperate to be seen! It was made in sateen with a
taffeta linen and embellished with SRE, beads, crazy
stitches, laces, buttons and other cuties. In my
garden are flowers, a bee, a cat, a dragonfly, a
caterpillar and a spider.
I have just joined the Yahoo Group and would like to
show my first work with crazy which is this purse. I'm
very glad I found such a nice place and would like to
take the opportunity to congratulate you all for this
wonderful site.
I attached some pictures of a crazy quilted 11" X 14"
picture I made and framed to give to my daughter Michelle. I named this picture "Michelle's Cherub Garden."
The porcelain cherub was made by
Christina Pirnie a couple of years ago.
I made these eyeglass cases for my family for
Christmas 2004 using Rissa's article in Vol 3 Iss 4.
The images were from CQ Newsletter CD's printed on
iron transfer paper.

This is a picture of my first crazy quilted project.
I made this for my best friend's birthday. Her
favorite color (and mine) is purple. I paper pieced
the background. Used groupings of color coordinated
buttons that overlap each other. All of the white
lace motifs are really from one piece of lace; just
trimmed and cut and rearranged to make various
complementary designs. There are also beading and a
mirror. At the top of the hanging are large gold
rings that the piece can hang from, they were found in
my stash of 'savings'.
This was exhibited in the Scioto Co., Ohio 2004 Fair
(first fair I ever participated in) and it was placed
in with regular artwork by the judges; but it received
a blue ribbon.
Thanks for the neat project..I was pouring over my
books trying to find a small, not time consuming gift
for my daughter in laws birthday the following week,
checked the archives and came across the "Travel
Lavender Sachet" in Vol.3, Iss.4. Perfect as she is
going on her first cruise this summer! And best of
all I had all the supplies in my stash. Thanks for
the great ideas.
